Researcher
Selma joined the World Justice Project in October 2021. She specializes in human rights from a gender perspective.
Prior to joining WJP, Selma worked at EQUIS, Justicia para las mujeres, a feminist organization that promotes women's human rights where she collaborated in different projects to mainstream the gender perspective in the country's judiciaries, strategic litigation, legal research from a gender perspective and interculturalism. She was involved in a research on the impact of COVID-19 on women's rights.
She is the founder of Círculo Femnista de Análisis Jurídico, a feminist organization dedicated to the democratization of law from a gender perspective.
Previously, she worked at Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad doing strategic litigation for the fight against corruption. She also worked at the law firm López Melih y Estrada.
She studied law at La Salle University and a Master's degree in Fundamental Rights from Carlos III University
